Very nice mood lighting, I put two on the decorative shelves on each side of my bed. It gives a very nice cozy atmosphere. They are very discreet and hidden behind small plants.

The light is bluish without looking cold, very beautiful. The energy efficiency of the Dot Its, I have several of them, could be better, but they stay bright enough for a shelf/work surface for a long enough time. I use it in a small windowless bathroom to bring in a little more summer vibe. To open the battery compartment you have to turn the black disc on the back in the direction of Open, due to the hexagonal shape they also stand well. You can also stick them on the wall, where they hold well.

I've bought several of these dot its, they all work. Of course, the sunset lights with battery have less power than those with a USB port, but they are better suited for the window frame. I glue them to the window frames to give the room more brightness and warmth in cloudy weather, the effect is subtle with the dot its, but enough for me. As far as energy efficiency goes, they stay bright enough long enough to illuminate a shelf or work surface when placed in/under a shelf, for my needs it would be better if they stayed maximally bright even longer with new batteries.
