Thought it was a hard casing. however it holds quite a bit. using it to hold sewing and crocheting items and it fits perfectly beside the wall and the side of my sofa.

I thought it was going to be plastic sides, but it is material, it is very sturdy i absolutely love it, highly recommend this item.
