st***26 A jar that I'm currently using as a vinegar container, so without having added water to "seal" it. Very effective system though.

tu***11 It's the first pickling jar with this Asian style water "collar" I got like this. It's a technology trick the Asians have been using for a loooong time, but europeans still haven't copied.
It's genius! I followed the instructions. I added my fermenting pickles from my standard jars, and the fermentation process accelerated in the same day!
In the normal jars you had to leave some gap to the flat lid so the bacteria can 'breathe', and you had to 'burp' the jar by regularly opening it so it won't explode from the pressure build up.
But not anymore! The border with added water allows for air pressure pressure to escape but doesn't let in air back from outside. Also the slightly raised dome of the glass cap holds enough air in the jar to let the bacteria breathe.
At first, I thought I kept getting messages on my phone and didn't know where the sound was coming from. The fermentation jar kept releasing an air bubble every 10-30 seconds and it sounded like a notification xD.
Pickled cucumbers fit in perfectly.
I will definetly get a second jar for sauerkraut.
The small opening of the jar makes it easy to not let any of the vegetables come in contact with the air.
I didn't care for the patterns on the glass until I realized they're there so the jar doesn't get as slippery.
