Item looks amazing, got the impression it was metal but this was my mistake for not double checking. Doesn't effect the item in anyway though and still pleased with it as it works really well. I have been using in the shower as there was just a large hole which clogged drains up frequently due to women in house with long hair. This item has now fixed the problem. I just need to clean this out weekly which is a breeze. Would recommend
