The barbs are made from stainless steel not nicle coated brass like some of the other cheaper disconnects you might see on the market.The (Gas) IN disconnect is for a Cornelius or Firestone ball Lock Kegs. This Connector has a 1/4" threaded Connection. In order to connect to a hose you need a 1/4"MFL to 5/16" Barb Swivel Nut.(Assuming you are using 5/16 red gas hose) Allows for quick disconnects. The gas connector will also screw directly into a Portable Charger.The (liquid) Out disconnect is for a Cornelius or Firestone Ball Lock Kegs. This Connector has a 1/4" MFL (threaded) Connection. In order to connect to a hose you need a 1/4"MFL to 1/4" Barb Swivel Nut. Allows for quick disconnects.
