No idea if it’s enough for scratching, we still have our regular scratching board, but for fun and running up and down the walls it’s the greatest :) It sticks to the wall real good, safe even for my 6 kilo marmalade. I secured it with a screw just in case but otherwise it holds on its own. We’ve been using it for couple weeks now while building our “Cita Alta”, you can hang little things on it too, like threads and other light toys, great for playing. the cat loves it
