I've used it to slice sweet potatoes. You need quite a force to do it but it can do it! It'll leave 1-1 little chinks for the edges where you pin onto the holder but those are just a few seconds to slice by hand. I usually do 2-3 huge sweet potato which takes about 15-20 minutes for me to do by hand, with this gadget I did it around 5 minutes so it's a relief. It was very easy to wash it also, just really watch for the blade as it's very sharp indeed.
Was quite a surprise that it worked, to be honest I didn't expect it. :D
